York Hen Parties

York is fast becoming one of the most popular Hen Party locations in the North of England. With a fantastic selection of luxurious hotels, plush bars, fancy restaurants and happening nightclubs, it's not difficult to see why! Why not come and sample some fantastic North Yorkshire hospitality in a modern place that still has the heritage of its Viking and Roman beginnings dotted around the city.

If you're feeling cultural then why not take a leisurely stroll around York Minster and the medieval cobbled streets that are lined with all the High Street outlets? August is a massive month for the city as it hosts York Races, arguably one of the most spectacular race meetings in the UK calendar. A great opportunity for your group to go out and buy an expensive outfit and silly hat for the occasion! The McArthur Glen shopping centre in central York will be able to help you out in that department!

York is famous for its ridiculous amount of pubs within such a small vicinity of each other! You'll certainly have ample opportunities to send your Bride-to-be off in style, with a few glasses of nicely chilled wine thrown in for good measure! The city also boasts two great theatres, the Theatre Royal and the Grand Opera House, if you fancy taking in a play or musical before hitting the bars. With its surrounding countryside and cosmopolitan feel, there is no better venue in the North to host your all-important Hen celebrations! York quite simply has the lot!

This popular stag destination can also be reached quickly and easily from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Newcastle, Nottingham and Liverpool.

Ariving By Plane

At present there is no organised transport to and from the airport. However, an hourly coach service between York and the Airport starts running in March 2007. Alternatively, you can get a taxi from the airport which can be relatively cheap if split between a few members of your hen group.

Ariving By Bus

You and your hen party can reach York from all over the country by coach and bus. National Express runs a service that stops at the train station. This could be a very cost effective means of arriving at this destination if your stag group is on a budget.

Getting Around -

On Foot

York is a relatively small city, so, zig-zagging from drinking establishment to drinking establishment won't prove to be much of a chore. Make life easier and download one of our City Guide Maps to aid you on your merry way.

By Taxi

Get a taxi when your legs have turned into a substance similar to jelly! Getting a taxi in this popular hen party destination can prove tricky when all the pubs and clubs close, so you might want to get a kebab and walk home instead.
